The Lee T. Four

NO COVER 7:00pm Show

Saxophonist Lee Tran, pianist Patrick Adkins, drummer Tarek Abdelqader, and bassist Matt McIntyre will perform a set of straight-ahead jazz followed by a set of jazz covers of video game music.

Lee Tran, a native of the Twin Cities, is a saxophonist equally adept at performing free jazz and pop music. He honed his craft over two years in Winnipeg, Canada, studying under Thelonious Monk International Jazz Saxophone Competition winner Jon Gordon. Lee draws inspiration from Minneapolis’s own Mike Lewis (Happy Apple) and jazz greats Joe Lovano, Phil Woods, and Eddie Harris.

Patrick Adkins is an inventive, empathetic Minneapolis-based pianist and composer. An in-demand band leader and sideman all over town, Patrick has made his mark on the Twin Cities jazz scene, performing at jazz festivals across the Midwest and sharing the bandstand with luminaries such as JT Bates, Dean Magraw, Davu Seru, Michelle Kinney, and Brandon Wozniak. Patrick is a member of the modern jazz collective SPACE (which has released the albums The Approaching Coast and Non-Trivial Problem), and he branches out from piano to synthesizers for the indie glam-pop band d'Lakes.

Tarek Abdelqader is a Palestinian American percussionist.
