Saxophonist Nelson Devereaux curates Sundays at Berlin in May. This week: Sonic Reality.

Caley Conway travels the dusty trail of I-94 all the way from Milwaukee, WI, to share her incredible brand of indie/folk music. Then, bassist David Feily, pianist Kevin Gamble, drummer Dave Power, and multi-instrumentalist Mike Sodnik join Nelson Devereaux in playing Devereaux’s spacey indie-pop music (for fans of BADBADNOTGOOD, Kamasi Washington, King Krule, and/or MK.gee). James Taylor closes out the evening with an eclectic jazz DJ set.
.
Caley Conway is a Milwaukee-based songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, a trailblazer of the Midwest music community who has toured widely and shared stages with such heavy hitters as Phoebe Bridgers and Julien Baker. In her first full-length release since 2019's Surrounded Middle, Conway brings us Partner (out now on Crutch of Memory Enterprises): a keen examination of love, codependence, and the struggle to maintain one’s autonomy as half of a pair.
Minneapolis resident Nelson Devereaux is a saxophone and multi-wind instrument player who weaves old into new with exciting indie/instrumental pop sensibilities and dazzling technical abilities on multiple instruments. His latest record, Infinity, was released in November 2024 on the Brooklyn-based Youngbloods label. He recently completed a U.S. duo tour with Craig Finn in April. His next record, EN.d, will be out on Youngbloods later in 2025.
James Taylor is a drummer (LAAMAR, Unstable Shapes); vinyl collector; and music booker.
