Brooklyn- and Berlin-based drummer Devin Gray will return to Minneapolis and perform his original music with local greats Chris Bates and Brandon Wozniak.

Devin Gray was born and bred in Maine; lived in New York starting in 2006; and is currently living between Berlin and Brooklyn. He has performed and recorded with saxophonists David Liebman and Gary Thomas, and he recently released a trio with the politically charged title Melt all the Guns, featuring Ralph Alessi and Angelica Sanchez. His other collaborations include the 2020 release of 27 Licks, a long-standing duet with close friend and master drummer Gerald Cleaver. Recent global appearances have been at the Berlin Jazz Festival, a new project with Tim Berne and Michael Formanek, and a trio with Zoh Amba and Micah Thomas. As a sideman, Gray has worked with Nate Wooley, Tony Malaby, Andrea Parkins, Satoko Fujii, Marc Ducret, Eve Risser, and many more.

Brandon Wozniak of Minneapolis, MN, is one of the most sought-after saxophonists from the Midwest. He is noted for his doleful tone and subtle, melodic approach. He is featured in Dave King Trucking Company and Acoustic Deathwish, where he contributes a rock-steady feel and rare sensitivity.

Chris Bates is an accomplished bassist recognized for his remarkable contributions to the world of jazz. Bates is a key member of the Atlantis Quartet, where his dynamic and inventive bass lines contribute to the ensemble's distinctive sound. With a career spanning decades, he has become a sought-after collaborator, known for his deep understanding of the jazz idiom. Beyond his work with Atlantis Quartet, Bates has lent his talents to various musical projects, solidifying his reputation as a skilled and innovative bassist within the vibrant Twin Cities music scene and beyond.
