Ambient Living Room is a collaboration between michaelton and Stefan O. Built around synthesizers, drum machines, and loops, the music treats the room itself as an instrument, unfolding slowly, with texture and without hurry. Featuring Sami Knox and Woodling, this performance will immerse listeners in improvised soundscapes and beats that are romantic, emotional, and deeply introspective.

Michaelton's work as a vocalist, producer, and musician stems from a core fascination: How can music and sound become tools for profound self-discovery? Blending jazz sensibilities with electronic experimentation, he leverages music technology to explore the deepest layers of human experience.
Stefan O. is a composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist who has spent over 30 years dancing between musical worlds. Classically trained on double bass, his career has veered through rock, country, reggae, psych, bhakti devotional music, microtonal chamber ensembles, and improvised noise. He studied at the CalArts alongside Charlie Haden and Wadada Leo Smith, and he was principal bassist with the Kona Symphony. He has scored music for national commercials—including campaigns for Apple, Wells Fargo, and Roku—and produced for artists such as Earthtones, Equanimous, and Shylah Ray. Originally from Austin, TX, he spent two decades in California before settling in Minneapolis.
Sami Knox, aka Minneapolis-based drummer/producer/DJ Sam Enochs, pushes the boundaries of rhythm and groove within electronic music. Combining a lifetime of instrumental experience and an 18-year production career in a variety of musical genres, this project expresses the influences of dubstep, jungle/drum&bass, and 2-step/garage/breaks through the lens of a jazz/funk drummer.
Woodling is a Minneapolis-grown mixed bag of musical talent. With an endlessly exploratory mind, he has spent most of his life seeking out new forms of musical expression. His background spans classical viola, jazz trumpet, heavy metal guitar, funk and jazz bass, audio engineering, music production, and DJing.

Mary Hanson Scott (she/they) is a saxophonist, composer, and educator. She has performed at Drone Not Drones in Minneapolis, International Noise Conference in Miami, and Big Ears Festival in Knoxville (with Green Ribbon), as well as many galleries, living rooms, basements, plant stores, and churches across the country. She has toured solo and with frequent collaborators Ruth Mascelli (Special Interest/Disciples) and Will Hicks (Green Ribbon). In May 2024, Mary earned a Deep Listening Certificate from the Pauline Oliveros Deep Listening Institute. Her work is dedicated to the art of listening and the interplay between sound, the body, the earth, and the cosmos.
