Music critics have described Paul Renz as "a remarkable guitarist and composer" and a creator of jazz that "knocks out listeners with subtle firepower hidden in a splendid vocabulary of feints and finesse." A graduate of Berklee College of Music and New England Conservatory and a student of jazz greats Herb Pomeroy, George Russell, and Mick Goodrick, Renz has recorded a half-dozen albums, which have received critical acclaim and topped jazz charts. A passionate and sought-after teacher, he offers private guitar and bass lessons as well as classes on theory and improvisation. While Renz lives and teaches in Minneapolis, he offers online guitar and theory lessons to students around the world.
