“What is the sound of one hand clapping?”

Rebecca Merblum, cello.

Rebecca Merblum is a cellist dedicated to chamber music in its many forms. She performs frequently as a guest with the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra and serves as the co-artistic director of the Kenya International Chamber Music Festival. She is a 2022/23 McKnight Fellowship grant recipient, a former MacPhail Center Artist-in-Residence in association with the Global Music Initiative, and a guest lecturer at the Longy School for Music in Alternative Spaces. She is widely recognized for her initiatives, including "Cello Conversations" at the Weisman Museum (part of a Target Center residency), "Your Dance" with Springboard for the Arts, and the chamber music series Sound Dialogue with Fueled Collective.

Carlisle Evans Peck is a composer, singer, pianist, and songwriter dedicated to the power of the human voice as a vessel of stories and magic. Their work explores the roles of song as ecology, relationship, heredity, and queer expression. They are a 2024 MSAB Creative Individuals Grant awardee, a 2022 Cedar Commissions artist, and a 2020 ACF Minnesota Emerging Composer. They perform their original work, both solo and with an ensemble, under their own name, as well as the improvised drone and loop project Judith II. Carlisle is a frequent collaborator with theatrical and puppet ensembles in the Twin Cities, including Zamya Theater Project and Barebones Puppets.
