Ross Hutchens invites local live PA ollo11 for the fourth night of his Berlin Sunday night residency. ollo11 is a multi-instrumentalist who uses vocal effects, synthesis, and sampling to create diverse and emotionally-gripping soundscapes. A DJ set from Hutchens will highlight the roots of ambient techno as it extends into modern pop.
Ross Hutchens, aka Lonefront, is an electronic musician hailing from the San Francisco Bay Area and currently based in Minneapolis, MN. Occupying dual roles as a DJ and a live PA, Hutchens is renowned for seamlessly blending hardware synths and drum machines to create immersive sonic experiences. His music is performed by some of techno’s most-beloved DJs in clubs worldwide. He has performed alongside luminaries such as Luke Slater, BMG, Juana, and DVS1. In 2022, he founded Uncoiled, a record label that quickly gained notoriety due to a feature in DJ Nobu’s BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix.
Barthollomew Presby, known as ollo11, is a multidisciplinary artist based in Minneapolis, MN. Their practice spans photography, sculpture, sound, and digital media, examining art as a science of communication. Bridging traditional techniques with emerging technologies, they incorporate machine learning tools with synthesis and sampling to craft immersive soundscapes. DJing supplements their live performances, adding textures and rhythms to create dynamic environments. With a focus on precision and innovation, ollo11’s work decodes the relationships between space, narrative, and perception. Through tactile installations, sonic experiments, and live performances, they work to expand the possibilities of art as a medium for transmitting ideas and fostering reflection.
