To celebrate the first full month of Bible Study at Berlin, The Cherry Pit will present a special performance by Freaque and his band. There will be a $15 cover at the door during Freaque’s set to support his work. After Freaque’s set, the Bible Study open jam will continue as usual, free of charge.

Freaque explores the underbelly of corporeal experience. Songs and stories about decay, decomposition, and death being juxtaposed with eroticism, relationship, and life. Through a dark, dank, and dirty artistic voice, Freaque tells stories of life blooming in the shadows and those lives taking shape in a myriad of bodies.

The Cherry Pit presents an open jam for musicians in the Twin Cities. We intend for this to serve as a social hub for Twin Cities creatives, a training ground to refine your musicianship, and a vehicle for high vibrational improvisation. This is not strictly a jazz jam. This is not a free-form basement jam. Our goal is to find an equilibrium between freedom/fun and excellence. The house band will be Tarek Abdelqader on drums, Henry Breen on bass, Marvelous on piano, and Jovon Williams on saxophones.
Why “𝔅𝔦𝔟𝔩𝔢 𝔖𝔱𝔲𝔡𝔶”? - Are we studying holy scripture at the jazz club? … No! Bible Study takes place on Wednesday nights, just like Bible study at church. We are honing our skills and knowledge, gathering with spiritual intent, so we can shred on the weekends in service to a higher power! Whatever that means to you.
We will have a house drum kit and a Steinway baby grand piano available for use. Bring your other instruments to the session.
