Trius performs innovative arrangements of jazz standards; pop tunes; and covers of works by many ECM artists, such as Keith Jarrett, Kenny Wheeler, Jan Garbarek, Ralph Towner, and Gary Burton.
Trius has been playing as a trio for a number of years. Dave Hagedorn, vibraphone, retired from directing the jazz program at St. Olaf College in 2020 after leading it for 23 years. He has performed and/or recorded with the George Russell Living Time Orchestra (which was nominated for a Grammy in 1985), Miguel Espinoza Fusion, Pete Whitman’s Xtet, and the Chris Bates Good Vibes Trio. Kevin Clements, bass, grew up in Kansas City. After college, he performed with artists such as Marilyn Maye and Billy Eckstine. Reid Kennedy, drums, grew up in Winona. After graduating from the University of Minnesota, he had his original music featured on Fox, Showtime, Starz, and the Learning Channel.
