For the final evening of his Sunday night residency at Berlin, Ross Hutchens will invite ambient specialist Jaak to perform live. Hutchens will also bring back out his modular synthesizer to perform an improvised set with drummer Toby Ramaswamy.
Ross Hutchens, aka Lonefront, is an electronic musician hailing from the San Francisco Bay Area and currently based in Minneapolis, MN. Occupying dual roles as a DJ and a live PA, Hutchens is renowned for seamlessly blending hardware synths and drum machines to create immersive sonic experiences. His music is performed by some of techno’s most-beloved DJs in clubs worldwide. He has performed alongside luminaries such as Luke Slater, BMG, Juana, and DVS1. In 2022, he founded Uncoiled, a record label that quickly gained notoriety due to a feature in DJ Nobu’s BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix.
Jaak is an electrical and computer engineer living in Minneapolis. He has designed electronics for some of the world’s leading motorcycle and agricultural equipment manufacturers; run a synthesizer and pro-quality audio repair business restoring synthesizers, drum machines, amplifiers, electric pianos, effects units, and more for musicians and studio owners; and recorded, mixed, and mastered more than100 live in-studio sessions for Radio K.
Toby Ramaswamy is a composer, drummer, and producer based in Minneapolis. He has been fortunate enough to work with and learn from a diverse group of Minneapolis musicians and artists in a wide range of genres. As a drummer, he plays regularly with artists including Tabah, rice, Barlow, Jo Kellen, Tram, Eric Mayson, Wheel Eternal, and CB.
